The Mazda2 has a very simple design, like the swooping beltline, raked rear hatch, and short overhangs. These design elements help you understand that this machine is meant for driving. This look remains on the Evil Track, just instead of green paint, you’ll find that this version has lost it’s cute touch. The car is painted in a gray paint scheme with Mazda racing decals.
Under the hood is a 1.5-liter inline-four, and while output is only rated at 100 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque, don’t let the meager numbers lead you to believe that this vehicle is slow. Those are the stock numbers, but this Evil Track version adds a few upgrades to the mix that it must have stole from somebody.
The stock Mazda2 comes with an automatic as the standard transmission, but we don’t think that’s going to work for this version. We anticipate a manual transmission, which was decent on the base version, but it did suffer from a vague clutch. We hope that issue is corrected for this new version.
Other upgrades include H&R race suspension and coil over kit, 949 6UL 15x9 lightweight wheels, and 225/45/15 Hoosier race tires. These upgrades and the reworked interior should help keep the weight down, making this a grown up go-kart.
The Interior Design Of Mazda 2
The interior has been redone, as those nice road trip seats are done, in favor of a Sparco sport seat. You’ll also notice the red roll cage, which was created by AWR. Once you’re inside, you’ll notice an updated steering wheel, a safety harness, and fire system. This takes the bland interior of the base Mazda2 and turns it on its head.
