Next issue of Volvo trucks’ tablet magazine now available

A new issue of Volvo Trucks’ tablet magazine - which was successfully launched in the beginning of the year - is now available to download.



This issue includes exciting news items on Volvo Trucks' environmental work. Through videos and articles, visitors will also learn more about how Volvo Trucks' safety solution helps truck drivers with blindspotting and how smartphones can be used to improve efficiency and ensure the quality of the company's aftersales services. They will also get the chance to meet Oliver Splingart who transports live fish in his Volvo FH16 between fish farms throughout Europe, a sophisticated task which place special demands on both the truck and the driver.



The new issue of Volvo Trucks Magazine can be downloaded free of charge. iPad users can access the magazine from the App Store, while Android users can get it from the Marketplace.

AUDI AG presents new technology magazine in Encounter series

How will we get around in 2050? What can cars learn from fish? Through spectacular images and fascinating stories, the Audi Technology Magazine takes an in-depth look at these issues and more. Taking center stage are the people behind Audi technology: the inventors and creators, the technology experts and meticulous perfectionists.



The auto industry is currently facing what will likely be the greatest technological change in its history. “I have been in the automotive industry for over 30 years, and things have never been as exciting as now, or so challenging,” says Michael Dick, Member of the AUDI AG Board of Management in charge of Technical Development. Connected cars, electrification, increasingly efficient combustion engines and lightweight design – these are the challenges facing Audi development engineers day in and day out. They are also the main themes of the Technology Magazine.





“The passion of each of our employees is – and will continue to be – the sustaining force behind our proverbial ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’,” Development Chief Dick stresses. The Audi Technology Magazine presents the people behind the technology, their day-to-day activities all the way from high-tech to handcraft, and their visionary ideas. In the first issue, for example, readers will discover how developers are reinventing Audi’s core area of expertise, all-wheel drive. And what engineers are learning from schools of fish.



Even the medium itself is high-tech: augmented reality (AR) blurs the boundaries between print and streaming image, between photo and video. A number of images in the magazine feature an AR logo. When readers scan these images with the camera in their smartphone or iPad, the mobile device identifies the photo and automatically launches the corresponding video. Images go from static to streaming, and portrait pictures become interview scenes.



“We are making technology come alive. Our ultimate goal is to create a publication that is accessible to everyone,” says Toni Melfi, Head of Audi Communications. Charts, animations and infoboxes guide readers through the magazine, and a glossary explains complex technical terms for laypersons. An Audi Technology Portal DVD is also included with the magazine. The portal provides in-depth information on numerous Audi technologies, presented in multimedia format.



The Audi Technology Magazine is the third edition from the Encounter series, which also features the Audi Sustainability Magazine and the Audi Environment Magazine. The Technology Magazine will continue to provide regular reports on new developments and technologies of the Audi brand.

 It's a 2 year project, and this year was it's debut. Not just the coolest van we'll see for years to come, it's also a travelling office so Coby can display and sell hie magazines and t-shirts at car shows

None of the woodwork inside has any right angles. It's very smooth and pleasant to contemplate it's looks and use

 I've got 3 or 4 of these, and they are worth the money, just terrific photography. The one on the lower left is made up of photos taken at Fremont dragstrip between 1960-1964 by his dad, and stuffed away in a showbox in his dad's garage for 40+ years. That is family treasure.

Garage Style Magazine, I just learned of it, and after reading through the newest issue, recommend it. (Car guy stuff through and through)

In the above issue, I was enjoying the article on the Irish car makers and oldest car maker in Ireland (Peare Motor Works) and oldest traffic light, the Speedway Brewing Company near Olympia Washington, Denny's collection, Frank's collection, Larry's collection, John's Porsche collection, Michael's Corvette collection, Jon's collection, news on car shows like the Muckenthaler, the art work of Rick Rucker http://www.drawingcarsiseasy.com/, Booker, and Lambert, the photography of Dean Graham, and a good bio profile of the founder of the Amelia Island Concours, Bill Warner. Plus 5 book reviews I haven't seen anywhere else (Chrisman Legacy and others) plus a garage design company article.

Chock full of awesome garages, collections of petroliana and automobilia, garage art, hood ornaments, advice on garage floors, wall art, garage designs, doors, etc etc, car collections and how that has changed peoples garages (expansion!)

Some famous museums (Mullins!) and work shops too. Check it out when you have reading time, because this isn't a short attention span captioned photo type magazine, this has great writing without all the stats and facts of cars, this magazine tells the stories of the people that desired more that a place to put their stuff, they made great garages!
